چکیده

Abstract Colonic lipomas are benign tumours, most commonly in the right colon or caecum, usually detected incidentally at colonoscopy and often asymptomatic not requiring treatment. Lipomas leading to intussusception have previously been described case reports, but it remains a rare occurrence, no specific incidence data has documented. We present of patient with 7cm colonic lipoma that developed an intussusception. This suffered non-specific pulling pain along upper abdomen for many years. A distal ascending was identified, on repeated imaging biopsied. It concluded abdominal due gallstones, diverticulitis adhesions from previous pelvic surgery. In early December 2020, reviewed listed elective cholecystectomy. Later same month, admitted severe pain, watery bloody diarrhoea. CT scan showed had acted as lead point intussusception, surrounding having intussuscepted into transverse colon. Patient open hemicolectomy anastomosis colo-colic secondary lipoma. Subsequently, anastomotic breakdown relook laparotomy resection ileo-colic end ileostomy formation. Adults presenting is associated nonspecific signs symptoms. Variability clinical presentation highlights need low index suspicion people known masses. addition, surgical intervention should be considered masses >4cm suggested literature.

Colo-colonic intussusception secondary to a colonic lipoma : report of two cases.

Lipomas are the most common mesenchymal benign tumor of the colon. They are usually asymptomatic but may cause bleeding, obstruction, intussusception, or abdominal pain. A lead-point for adult intussusception exists in 90% of cases and is frequently malignant. The diagnosis can be made by colonoscopy, barium enema examination, and by computed tomography. We have reported two cases of submucosal...
